A criminal case brought by the parish priest of Alburquerque Jose Francisco Leiba against militia lieutenant Manuel Armijo, charging him with disrespect and slander. The event which led to the charges, an exchange of insults and blows, resulted from a long term animosity between the two resulting from a dispute over the burial of a Militiaman and Armijos jealousy of Leiba's relations with a servant working in his house.
