Summary
Cuevas requests that his son Luis be accepted as poblador or soldado in Nueva California to correct his immoral ways; he is sent there, remaining until 1803 when his Father requests his return to San Blas; son never became poblador or soldado (considered unfit for post), but remained a tailor; Father is billed for son's Passage home which at first he refuses to pay.
