Summarizing the circumstances of his trial for marrying without a license and the favorable final report, Vaamonde asks the auditor de guerra to be forgiven and assigned a new post in order to recover economically. The answer tells him to wait the resolution of the royal authorities. He repeats his request in a long letter addressed to the viceroy were he makes an apologetic account of his whole career.
