Summary
Documents concerning a detailed information from Escandon to the virrey on the villages he is establishing with how many families and military. A letter on advances in the pacification of Indians and on the good land they are coming across. Escandon refers to an old presidio that was attacked by Indians in 1729, and that he found two cannons there. Escandon describes the behavior of the pacified. The Indians send their women and children as a sign of their honesty. These Indians have big huts (Chozas) and plenty of maiz, frixol, camote, Sandias y Hasta fosa de barro. The River is navegable con Piraguas frente Al panuco and in la Isla de tanatan there are a lot of platanos, aguacates y variedad de frutas. (D. Bautista, April 1990)
