Summary
As result of civil case dated February 20, 1647 Geronimo Garcia Masotto acknowledges a debt of 500 pesos de oro Comun en plata to Juan Gomez Fernandez. In a petition to the justicia of Parral dated March 2, 1649 Juan Gomez Fernandez notes that Masotto was killed by Tarahumara rebels on a road in Sonora. And Fernandez wants his debt to be paid from the estate. The justicia and captain de guerra awards the Masotto estate to Diego de Unomo and after a couple statements attesting to Masotto's death the justicia general Juan Fernandez de Carrion orders that Juan G. Fernandez can take his debt out ot the Masotto estate, in terms of 25 or 30 beasts four of which should be 2 year old mules. The award is dated 15 April 1649. (R. Davis) (1975)
