Summary
Juan de la Cruz a mulato libre petitions the justicia from debtors prison that he be given mercy. He says he does not owe the debt and has a wife and children. Jose de las Marinas writes that Juan de la Cruz owed him 252 pesos of gold en comun and that his books attesting to this have been seen by the Alcalde mayor (?) Antonio de Quesada. An auto by gen. Juan Fernandez de Carrion follows, finding in favor of Marinas and ordering continued sentence of de la Cruz, (?). A final document signed by captain Pedro de Andrada simply re-states the judgment.
