Summary
Royal order abolishing the inquisition and replacing it by tribunals for the protection of religion. Reasons for the abolition are given - the abuses and excesses of the inquisitors the secrecy of the system in which the accused can be condemned without ever facing his accuser etc. The Cortes decides that the inquisition is contrary to the constitution.
