Summary
Croix's letters to Peru, 1783, concerning frontier military affairs. Notes that Janos presidio killed about 23 Indians, took 3 prisoners among Indians ostensibly seeking peace and warns Peru to beware Indian vengeance. Details proposed campaign against Apache under Vildosola, involving presidial soldiers from Santa Cruz, vecinos from Fronteras, Opatas from Bavispe. Tells Peru to increase production of canones pedreros for use against Apaches. (T. Sheridan) (1977)
