Father Reyes has unsuccessfully attempted to reduce to missions Indians at Atacoso. There is a Frenchman in the area who is envolved in illicit trading on the Angelina River with Cocos, Mayeyes, etc. Mentions that Atacapas and Apeluzas are also engaged with illicit trade with Indians. Also states that Lipanes are involved and are arming themselves with guns and powder. (R. Graham) (1980)
