IT WAS AN AMBUSH. THE SPANISH IMPRISONED THE INDIANS. TWO CHIEFS DIED IN AN ATTEMPT TO RESIST. IT IS NOT KNOWN WHETHER QUEMADO DIED IN THE RESISTANCE OR WHILE IN JAIL.
