Homer Leroy Shantz
This headland - showing sand and brush. About noon of the next day we passed near a sandy headland where the brush covered sand dunes came to the sea. In many places there were tall lonely trees at the very edge of the water - not cut down by the wind. From this point on until night land was always in sight. [Shantz journal, Oct. 28, 1919]
