Description
Empty rind with stone and spoon thrown into larger half of rind. This fruit is 3 1/2 inches in diameter = 11 cm pit 2.5 rind .25 flesh 8 cm or 4 cm thick on each side of the stone. Of a rich yellow color and no fiber in the flesh. Stone shows almost a smooth surface. These are the largest and best mangoes I have ever seen. In color yellowish green or sometimes with a tinge of red-blotched on upper end. Brown flaw spots on side of fruit. A slice off the side furnishes as much flesh as a rather large cantaloupe - and it is as easy to dip up. [Shantz travel journal, Feb. 10, 1920]
