Summary
Acknowledging an order to use monies from the peace and war fund to supply gifts to the Cuampes, Aas, and Sayenas. Real Alencaster describes the plight of an american and two Frenchmen who accompanied the Cuampes. The american was sick from measles and could not support himself, and the two French trappers could not ply their trade in New Mexico. Real Alencaster appropriated 75 pesos to help the three. Cruillas asks Cachupin to get (white ?) Does from pacified Indians living next to the Cumanche nation. Cachupin replies that he managed to catch and tame some Young deer of alzane breed, but assures virrey that there are no white deer in Nueva Mexico; they are to be found only in hot climates, near la Linea equinocial.
