Belena gives information to the virrey on the progress in the creation of the new bishopric. Belena requests money to cover all the expenses that have arisen from the work of the territorial division, also suggests that all the rights of mesada by curas and the diezmo be paid to the royal Caxas de San Luis Potosi. Letter from Valladolid to virrey informing him of the Diezmos collected in the Rio Verde missions, who the administrators of haciendas are, and the amount of money received in the year 1773 and 1774. An account is sent from Guadalaxara to the virrey on the Diezmos for Nuevo Reyno de Leon. In another letter Noriega writes the virrey giving an accounting of Diezmos from 1770 and the name of the administrator of hacienda. The governor of Nuevo Santander answers the virrey saying he will respect the the territorial divisions of the church. The royal Caxas de San Luis Potosi are notified from Belena to charge the derecho de Mesada to the Linares parish. Belena, the auditor for the virrey, appears to make most of the decisions, hiring persons to make the maps, hire scribes and investigators in the establishment of the new bishopric and cathedral for the Nuevo Reyno de Leon. Letter from the king giving the official position to Sacedon as the new Obispo in the church in san Phelipe de linares, and the name of church should be nuestra Senora de la concepcion by kings orders in February 14, 1779. Muniz sends a relacion to Santianes of the importe del diezmo explaining in detail what positions they have, what has been sold, and what has been collected. All the information will be send to reales Caxas de San Luis Potosi. The king sends a letter to virrey giving approval to the establishment of the new Obispado. Areche informs virrey about the collection of Diezmos in Nuevo Santander by the administrator and gobernador. iglesia metropolitana sends a letter to virrey stating that they agree to make the accounting of the new bishopric separate. Letter from capitan de hoyos to Gonzalez de Santianez, requesting advice on the problems of collecting the Diezmos for the construction of the new Obispado. Santianes then appeals to the virrey for advice. The bishop de Guadalaxara complains to virrey of the administrator Muniz's methods of collecting Diezmos. Church of Valladolid also complains of the method of collection. Areche writes a synopsis of the conflicts and requests a rapid response from the virrey to solve the problem. (D. Official hacedores give virrey a history of past royal decrees related to Diezmos for the years 1544 to 1769 for the abbey of panuco. Areche gives information on the instructions for collection of Diezmos for the construction of the cathedral and report in October 20, 1774 of a royal meeting of fiscales on the progress made in establishing the new bishoric. Archbishop of Mexico reports to the virrey that he will obey his request to send his part of Diezmos for the establishment of the bishopric. Reales Caxas de San Luis Potosi and the bishop of Michoacan acknowledge tehir part in collection of Diezmos for the new bishopric. (D. Bautista, January 1990)

Royal decree of January 5, 1773, states that the construction of the new cathedral will be in Linares with the name of Nuevo Reyno de Leon, for the new colony of Nuevo Santander; the diezmos for construction of the cathedral will come from 26 villages. The royal decree also states that Indians will not pay Diezmos with the hope that they will stay in the colony. Virrey gives the governor of Nuevo Santander the responsibility of naming the persons responsible for collecting the Diezmos and for the churches of Guadalaxara and Valladolid to keep an accounting of the Diezmos collected for the new cathedral. The summary of the Diezmos collected is presented on folio 22. Virrey requests a detailed listing of Diezmos from the Obispado of Guadalaxara of the Diezmos received from Reyno de Leon, Coahuila and Texas for the last five years. Sierra sends the information to the virrey. Gonzalez de Santianes is commissioned to certify the Diezmos from the villages. folio 28 is located between folios 55 and 56, is a relation signed by Vidal de Lorca explaining that Goicochea is responsible for the collection of Diezmos in that jurisdiction.
