These documents continued from F.316. Moreno leads transportation of chaingang of Apaches to capitol. (same Indians at times called Mecos.) One Indian left at San Carlos; one near death is baptized by Urruchua at pavellan; Meco infant Dies, is given Christian burial at San Juan del Rio. F.401 on are mostly accounts of expenses of travel, maintenance of Indians; receipts for transfer of money related to transport. (A. Dean, September 1989)

Possible Apache Indians steal horses and kill men in Parral. Apaches steal cattle and kill people in Cienega; soldiers and Indian auxiliaries unable to catch them. Indians kill men and steal horses in oro; civilians and Yaquis and Taraumares auxiliaries are armed to defend themselves and property. Summary
Discusses Sonora's Indian problems. Asks that second compania volante be provisioned to continue war against Apaches. Notes constant problem runaway Indians taking refuge in mountains to enjoy depraved and licentious customs. Mentions Indians' inconstancy, probability new uprising will include nearly all the Pimas Bajos, many of the (Pimas) Altos, and perhaps some from other nations. Describes ease Indians moved to rebel. States roots trouble still in mountains, including Seri chief Marcos, Suaqui Rancheria. Since Suaquis, Sebubapas, especially Seris, plant very little. Pessimistic about permanent reduction Indians, even with rations. Proposes to send all conquered males over twelve to Havana, women, children to California. Cerro Prieto mountains noted as stronghold. If such policy carried out, infantry could retire to Altar, presidio, first compania volante reform. (T. Sheridan, 1976)

Summary
Series of documents concerning retirements of military officials. Request of military weaponry for presidios (list includes ammunition, cannons, shotguns, birolas, Espadas...). Approval for a chaplain for Terrenate. Diaries sent to viceroy on expedition to Rio Colorado and Gila; new Indians are found; prisoners are taken; tobacco is requested to deter soldiers from desertion.
