Collection of documents dealing with group of tahuacan Indians who request permission to travel to Mexico City to petition viceroy for a Spanish settlement on Rio Colorado near their people. Much discussion back and forth before permission is granted. A condensed account of a letter and other correspondence where governor of Nuevo Santander at presidio of Laredo states that a fahuacan captain and 17 Indians showed up requesting that a settlement be established near their territory on banks of Colorado River. Indians request permission to travel to Mexico to present their petitions to viceroy. A negotiator is nominated but Fahuacanes refuse to deal with him (Joachin Mosquera). Document ends abruptly. (T. Other documents continue Sonsonate and Realejo transferred to district of Guatemala, status of construction of new Paquebot and tools, supplies (ff. 453-455).
