Establishes punishments and judicial proceedings for 8 classes of insurgents. 1) all officers, defenders of fortifications, or armed when captured. 2) spies of all types. 3) guerillas and agitators 4) deserters 5) civil servants who join the rebel cause 6) those whose published or public opinions are sympathetic to the rebels 7) thieves who take advantage of political instability 8) civil servants continuing to serve in areas controlled by the rebels. The first four groups and the eight, if military personnel, will be tried in a consejo de guerra. The last four groups, if civilian, will be tried by civil authorities. (P. Hayes) (1977)

Artalejo receives word that an indio has escaped from a chain gang at the jail. Going to the jail, he finds a prisoner guarding the Door, and the Alcalde of the prison absent. It developes the indio escaped while ostensibly fetching water. Apparently Pedro Lizondo (Alcalde de la carcel) allowed prisoners to fetch food and water and run errands in general without escort or shackles. As an example to future Alcaldes de carcel, Pedro Lizondo (espanol) is ordered to replace the escaped Indian in the chain gang. (P. Hayes) (1977)

Irene Salsido on behalf of her Father, charges Augustin Lira (indio) and Diego Foribio Machuca (mulato) with theft of 2 Reses. Machuca is absolved, but Augustin lia is sent off to la hacienda de San Juan Baptista de Encinillas for 6 years of hard labor. (P. Hayes) (1977)

3 of the indios and the mestizo are guilty of petty theft and are sent to the hacienda de San Juan Baptizta de Encinillas to do 3 years of hard labor and to learn a skill. Fransisco is suspected of being an accomplice of the Apaches and receives the same sentence. (P. Hayes) (1977)
