Letters to viceroy accusing provincial of Zacatecas of stealing sinodos and demanding specific amounts of money from priests under his supervision leaving friars without their sustenance and not enough monies for care of churches, some priests incurred debts with outsiders who made judicial demands about payments. same provincial is accused of stealing and melting church utensils made of gold and silver substituting them with ones of lesser value. Investigation carried by comandante general de Provincias Internas on all missions following directive of king to remedy abuses. Secularization of missions and doctrines in Santander is carried out except the mission of San Cristobal de los gualahuises where only the priest is changed but mission is transferred to diocese of Nuevo Leon. Within body of documents there is information about Indian unrest due to encroachment of lads by Spaniards, pacification force is sent but withdraws, members of force are accused of cowardice. An informe about census of Indian nations under jurisdiction of each mission is attached with accounts of depredations and killings by Indian Pedro Jose and his band. Munoz requests viceroy use of funds for public works. Viceroy requests information on construction works in Jaumave, Llera, and Palmillas. Letter of governor explaining some money not used in Jaumave taken by Yanez. Letter to Savinon stating that Ruiz and Gallo (fiadores de residencia) must pay missing amount. Cabildo of Santa Fe petitions governor to issue agricultural tools, cloth, thread, horses, gunpowder, munitions and arms to inhabitants of Villa as help is needed to defend it, there is hunger and people are almost naked. Cabildo attaches copies of original documents to back up petition dating from 1699 when king issued a cedula for more families and added monetary help to inhabitants of province; documents show viceroy complied but governors did not. Documents also show that soldiers from Sonora and Sinaloa should be transferred temporarily to New Mexico. (A. Dell'acqua, June 1987)

Garrison of presidio del Pilar requests cancellation of letters of authority to collect salaries given under duress to Reneros Posada. Soldiers name Roldan to collect such salaries from Caja real in Zacatecas. Reneros Posada requests help from viceroy as Petris Cruzate interferes against Reneros Posada's claim. Investigation of claims by both parties is ordered by viceroy wh decides to pay salaries to soldiers and orders renero Posada to use courts independently of government interference to prosecute soldiers for monies owed. Autos, petitions from Ayagues and Carizos to fiscal de naturales requesting transfer and ownership of land, appointment of Jose Cayetano Salinas as their protector. Travel and incarceration of six Ayagues in Mexico City. Petition granted but not acted upon, Ayagues travel second time to Mexico City to repetition. Petition granted again but blocked by governor who claims that land belongs to Milicianos and that Salinas is an undesirable and criminal who is put in jail.
