Fayni relates formation of company at Chiguagua; Oconor's movement of presidios to Rio Norte in accordance with Croix's plan; attenuation of cavalry mounts from disease and insufficient fodder; decreased ability to oppose Indians due to tiring of men from lack of horses. Cites lack of troop spirit; says that biggest boost to campaign effort would be to obtain sufficient and proper equipment. Mentions Apaches thefts nearby.
