Sibubapas injure 2 soldiers in Pilares; kill 2 Spaniards, 7 Indians in Macoyaqui. November 18 Pineda decides to attack rebel Indians in Cerro Prieto. 400 soldiers from Guaymas and Pitic, and 150 friendly Yaquis and Pimas gather in el Aguage. On 25th they attack; most rebel Indians escape due to fog, and only 32 Indians killed. (J. Tapia, July, 1987).

Croix discusses need for 600 soldiers, 300 friendly Indians for expedition against enemy Indians. Pineda informs Croix of Indian attack near Orcasitas; epidemic kills 180 people in Orcasitas. Summary
Documents deal with Indian attacks on presidios. Letter from Croix to Pineda outlining number of soldiers required from Mexico; requesting information on number of soldiers at presidios and number of friendly Indians who will participate against enemy Indians. Pineda informs Croix that Indians attacked oimurhi, took 50 horses, and in Cocoraqui took a woman; also informs that Salgado has spoken to some Indians about not joining unrestful ones; also mentions that previous letter was lost in Tequila. Croix orders Pineda to assign new captain to Terrenate, and discusses soldiers salaries. Pineda informs Croix that some Indians came to Belen requesting release of relatives, but refuses as this is only way of controlling them. Croix tells Pineda to be aware of small number of soldiers protecting fronteras. Pineda discusses necessity to form emergency companias volantes and money to finance it. 200 Seris and Pimas attacked Caborca, took horses, one child; soldiers from Altar unable to capture them. Pineda informs Croix of Indian raids near San Antonio and San Miguel, and creation of one compania provincial of 50 soldiers in San Joseph; Ansa, with 65 soldiers, attacked 400 Seris and Pimas in la Nopalera, recovered 77 horses and suffered no casualties. Croix laments human losses in Sonora, urges Pineda to pacify region. Pineda informs Croix of topographic characteristics of Cerro Prieto, and how lack of water often limits his campaigns against enemy Indians. (J. Tapia, June, 1987).

Mention of succession to virreynato of conde de Revilla Gigedo, replacing Florez. Ff.b131-b132 are drafts of orders from viceroy to various officials regarding payments. Ff. B134, b141, b148, b152-b158 are similar drafts. Ff. B142-b147 are tables of accounts, accompanied by extensive footnotes, summarizing plan general for utilization of royal funds throughout Provincias Internas, except for Californias. Table includes allocations of salary money for presidial troops, along with breakdown by ranks of companies of each presidio. Tables broken down by province. F. Concerns discovery of a group of Apostate (traditional) Tarahumaras; who are raiding in area of long inactive presidio of Santa Catalina (whose vecinos que Llama Soldados de presidio de Santa Catarina); includes notes on old strategic role of post in war with Tepehuanes; copies of testimony by Esparza, Nevares, Corral, and Garcia on crimes Indians have undertaken in area; list of items pillaged; encounters with Santa Catarina defense force; locales inhabited by renegades; moonlight assault on village of bandit Indians by Spaniards; capture of Indians; Indian tactics; Indian insolence; and a description of their camp; also; list of Fayni's military awards and titles is included.
