Summary
Pineda informs Cruillas of increase in Indian raids. Apaches steal horses and cattle in fronteras; soldiers recovered cattle and take captives. States Seris are away from Cerro Prieto and that it would be good opportunity to attack them; some Indians killed and others captured. Apaches steal horses in Bac, and soldiers from Tubac and Indian auxiliaries killed some Apaches and injure others. Expedition of friendly Indians against enemy ones; only a few enemy Indians killed. Pineda plans large expedition with soldiers and Indian auxiliaries against enemy Indians. (J. Tapia, may, 1988)

Tienda infoms delay of campaign against Indian due to epidemic; however, he was able to get soldiers from different presidios to start campaign against Seris and Pimas. Indian guide reports warring Indians located in Cerro Prieto and Trinidad. Soldiers sent out to combat Indians. Few Seris were killed, women and children taken hostages, and some horses were recovered. (J. Tapia, April, 1988).

Summary
Lengthy document about removal of Ugalde from governorship of Coaguila by Caballero de Croix. Ugalde complains that without being notified of reasons for his removal he was sent to Mexico to wait decision of king; his salary was cancelled as well. He states needing money and having to sell his jewels to support himself. He requests title of brigadier and another position in New Spain or in Peru. He includes a relacion of his military background. Description of military career of his paternal and maternal relatives. Description of his military career in Europe, Africa, and America. He gives a detailed account of his military campaigns against the Apaches. Description of battles, number of soldiers involved, number of Indians killed, captured, and horses, cattle and weapons recovered from the Indians. Ugalde also includes many letters sent to him by various people congratulating him for pacifying the area. Other letters deal with king's decision to appoint Ugalde as comandante de Armas, and to pay back his salary. (J. Tapia, March, 1988)

Summary
Murgier received order to present company in Padilla for two month campaign against Indians beginning south of Tamaulipas. Purpose to eliminate rancherias on east ridge. Murgier divides troops and sends in different directions. Describes troop clothing. Attack on Rancheria results in murder of Suraques. Physical description of area, water, pines etc. And difficulties terrain presents for travel and locating water. Upon arrival at each stop, place given name and reported to conde. says Santa Maria Valley fertile, capable of producing 25 fanegas in addition to temporal harvests. Puga's detachment with 10 prisoners asked for horses to transport injured soldiers all of whom later lost in confrontation. says Indians angry and vindictive. Relates achievements and information gained with each campaign. Murgier gives command to Puga during his illness. Includes diary of activity under Puga. Informe sent to Castro. (M.
