Dismissal of missionary Cabeza de Baca for negligence of responsibilites, also discussion of need to rebuild mission structures, inventory of mission furnishings especially images of saints and religious paraphernalia, measurement of mission lands, list of Mecos Pames of Xalpa mission ff 97-100, including number of Christian converts. Auto regarding election of Alcaldes and other officials attended by Mecos Pames officials. Letter from Naxera to Cornide, he has no testimony-but explains that colegio de zacateca did not have priests for the needs of the new colony and that new conversions and towns people can not pay diezmos, for these reason the Villas had no fathers; letter from Lasio to virrey, he has no testimony-but notes that Escandon prohibits any religious personnel from entering his domain, there is lack of interest in Indian pacification, there are widespread abuses by Escandon; letter from Alegre to virrey informs him of many property title disputes, that land is not fertile as had been promised, that Escandon owns galeta for his own financial benefit, and that Escandon has been receiving money from the royal hacienda. Concerns notification by Corbalan and Borfa to Bucareli about Sibubapa Indians behavior at Zuaqui. Borfa says he cannot retain Sibubapas Indians near the mission at Zuaqui. Sibubapis go to the mountains and hills in order to hunt and gather food since the mission does not have enough food to feed them. Sibubapas are described as being reticent to attend Christian mass. Copies of documents concerning notifications of construction of a church for Seris Indians at el Pitic, and rebuilding another one for Sibubapas at Zuaqui Pueblo. (R. Gomez, November, 1989)

Summary
F.18 is status report on Collera (chaingang) of Indians being escorted to Mexico by soldiers from Pasaje. Ff.19-30 are general reports on efforts to convert Indians in small pueblos; defense of pueblos. Seems to be establishing discreet jurisdictions, outlining problems of a few of these, for appointment of a missionary and/or Coronel to be responsible for each. F.27 mentions Geronimo de la Cruz as interpreter for cora, Alias Naiarit; tecualme; Mexicana; y castellana. (A. Dean, January 1990)
