Copy of correspondence between Cuellar and captain of San Buenaventura concerning discussion of threats made by Indian enemies and military tactics for their reduction; emphasis on importance of exterminating them. Summary
Ugarte informs viceroy of escaped Apaches near Fresnillo; most recaptured, except 8; 2 Apache children found by Mijares in Sombrerete and requests keeping them to educate them. Flores acknowledges this information and grants Mijares custody of Apaches. (J. Tapia, July, 1987).
