Account of misbehavior of Joseph Miguel, an Apache Indian raised in mission but who has chosen to live with Gentiles as an Apostate. Taken prisioner. Request by governor for instruction on his authority to proceed with this case. Testimony taken by Juez visitador Rafael Rodriguez Gallardo from some 100 Pima, Mayo and Yaqui Indians who were forced to work in various projects around the presidio of San Pedro de la conquista against their will. Soldiers and others familiar with the case are also interviewed concerning the Indians and their treatment, working conditions, punishments, torture, pay etc. Are described.
