The Indians of la Ysleta accuse Manuela Carrillo, servant of off over 200 Head of cattle have damaged their cultivations, destroyed the enclosure they constructed to protect the crops, ruined the Patio of the convent; that Carrillo has mistreated them in words and deeds. Carrillo is warned to make amends; that she cannot deprive the Indians of their legitimate rights; that her herd will have to be moved out of the district of Ysleta, to where there is sufficient territory for grazing and maintaining it. These are three letters, two by gov. Oconor and one by cap. Tovar addressed to fr. Gaspar de Solis regarding the hour for mass and other points of information. The two letters by oconor are dated may 16 and may 19 respectively of 1768, that by cap. Tovar was written from the presidio de Nuestra Senora de Loreto Bahia del Espiritu Santo, and is dated March 7, 1768. Tovars letter is 3 fol., these of oconor are 1 and 2 fol. Respectively.
