Having to leave his post, Vaamonde (gobernador) presents his libreta de servicios (resume) were all his previous services are listed with precise dates. He is then called before the viceroyal authorities to declare extensively about his marriage. The auditor de guerra considers in detail the extenuating circumstances of the case, producing a report favorable to Vaamonde. (A. Nielsen, October 1989)

Vaamonde tries to explain that his marriage was not consummated (he never lived with Maria Trevino) but just a provisional contract subjected to obtaining the official license. Therefore, he asks the sentence against him to be obeyed but not executed, allowing him to finish his regular period as a governor. His petitions are rejected and the new governor, Simon de Herrera, is urged to assume his functions. In the last document of this group, Vaamonde reports that his wife has just died. (A. Llanos y Valdes (bishop of Nuevo Reino de Leon) takes declaration to Canalizo, the priest who married governor Vaamonde without the corresponding licence. Canalizo (by 1794 dignidad de chantre) excuses himself arguing that he was forced to do so because he owed Vaamonde many favors. He denied having received any bribe, but only a post hoc gratification, which, in any event, he is ready to give back. The latter offering is accepted by the authorities and the investigations about his participation in the case are included. (A. Nielsen, October 1989)

Series of acts and letters demonstrating that Vaamonde married Maria Trevino without authorization from the king or at least from the viceroy. This was possible due to the collaboration of Canalizo (a priest from valle de la pesqueria) who received a bribe for neglecting the regulations in force. (A. Nielsen, October 1989)

Vaamonde is removed from his post because he married without having the corresponding license. Simon de Herrera succeeds him as the governor. Vaamonde requests the real hacienda to be paid his salary as governor until he finds another job. Francisco Xavier Goni purchased ship (San Judas Fadeo) in the canaries and sailed for Havanna then Ostiones with load and passengers. After leaving Havana ship sank. Only few crew lived and told what happened. Documents verify discovery of wreckage parts and auction of same. Ff.131 appears to quote laws concerning finding of unclaimed objects. Ship's Matricula, ff. 155-156. Wages paid for unearthing of wreck, ff.111-114. Possible document of boat purchase by Goni, ff.162-163. Steal some of the wreckage from beach and were killed. Concerns Series of documents dealing with abuses committed by Alcalde mayor Juan Baez who took away other people's property and money because, allegedly, there was the need to create militias in Vallecillos where Indians came and made problems. Goats are taken from Hacendados. Document explains details of conflict between authorities and local inhabitants of Vallecillos. Alcalde Baez is accused of running illegal businesses and of being promiscuous, I.e. Baez took someone else's woman and lived with her. Document explain what should have been done to save problems, such as not allowing this kind of people to serve the community. (M. Marroquin, August 1989)
