Documents concerning claim by Arredondo that management of Hospital de pobres de Monterrey is responsibility of vicepatrono (Arredondo), and not of Obispo de Monterrey. Arredondo bases case on Series of historical precedents regarding jurisdictional disputes between comandante general and cabildo eclesiastico. Folios 127-139 consist of exceptionally detailed inventory of Hospital, including surgical and pharmaceutical instruments, glassware, medicines, ointments, and descriptions of Hospital rooms, Hospital chapel, and morgue. Expedition and discovery trip to Monterrey and authorization of more military personnel is sought. Expedition through Rio Colorado and Gila with emphasis on surveying Indian population, routes, rivers and other geographic characteristics; orders to keep diaries is given by the viceroy.
