Loyola submits Cordero's diary of expedition against Indians. Diary includes table listing places visited; days and months spent at each; and numbers of Indians killed and taken captive at each. Concha, accompanied by indian and genizaro auxiliaries, was able to kill capitan grande and five companions. Later found that capitan had passport signed by anza, concha's predecessor. (D. Summary
Although ordered to collect ears of enemies killed in battle in order to obtain accurate Head count has been followed fairly well, at times it is difficult or impossible to cut off ears (eg. When number killed is too great, people have fallen into crevasses, etc.). Suggestion that in these Cases a signed, (D. Marksz, October 1987).

Scribe named; testimony of sargent concerning desertion; testimony of Salcido, includes account of Comanche attacks; Salcido says he deserted because he was stuck with nothing to eat and no help after Indian attacks, hides in church; notice from presidio chaplain that Salcido hid out there; azarte gives Salcido two months in jail and Ten years of military service depending on good behavior; Salcido freed by virrey June 21, 1820. Series of documents dealing with military campaigns against Apache Indians; summary of Indian activities and hostilities against the Spaniards; military operations against Indians resulted in the recovery of horses, cattle and the capture of Indians who were taken prisoners and cut their ears off, some Indians were decapitated; chart in this document condenses outcome of military actions against Indians (number of prisoners, combat casualties, Indians killed and animals recovered); military operation is organized and leaves in pursuit of Indian leader who escaped from coachi; letter is sent to the viceroy giving notice of Apache leader being resettled in presidio of Tupson. Summary
Series of documents concerning reports on military status of provincias Nueva Vizcaya and Sonora. Documents show charts contrasting figures of military personnel, weapons, ammunition, prisoners, sick soldiers and war casualties. Footnotes in every chart present a list of novedades occurred in the presidios between presidios, need for weapons, inventories of military supplies. Some charts contain lists (figures only), of Indian women, men and children in presidios, agricultural work, horses, mules, troop's check ups, etc. These footnotes are presented in diary form giving the day and the month of the event. Summary
Series of documents regarding Indian robberies in presidio of Tucson and other presidios and towns of the provincias del norte; letters reporting on the recovery of animals stolen by Indians, confrontation between Indians and soldiers left a number of casualties on both sides; raids against Indians in rancherias of Bigotes, Cuernoverde and Bermejo; letter giving some details such as Indians of Nueva Mexico are behaving. Negotiations with Indians held in order to convince them to work in Spanish communities and presidios; letter discribing the natural distrust of Indians when they are offered work with Spaniards; raid against Indians results in some being killed and others taken prisoners; statistical chart summarizing actions against Indians in provincias del Norte. Chart contains figures on Indians and soldiers killed, prisoners and animals recaptured from the Indians. (M. Marroquin, December 1988)
