Summary
Arminan receives money from caxas reales of San Luis Potosi, is ordered by Arredondo to deposit it as soon as he reaches Bexar. Arminan complains to virrey that officers requesting change of regimiento are supported by Arredondo. Arminan argues that despite his departure for Monterey Arredondo is creating a boycott of his regiment by officers. Virrey responds with need to maintain good relations as the nation is passing through a delicate period. Arredondo writes virrey that Arminan is raising conflicts and making a closed group in the command, treating the troops badly. Arminan requests supplies. (D. Bautista, March 1990)

Of illegible letter mentions the possible hoarding, shortages and bottlenecks that may result due to order aforementioned, that Parras and Saltillo send remittances to Durango; troops are not paid on monthly Basis but rather the avilitado receives funds for his company 6 months in advance; letter expressing sentiment that revenue will be deposited locally instead of sent to the real hacienda for the sake of efficiency; order to intendente telling him to send sums needed to provinces monthly instead of every six months so that surplus of assets will not build because of the possibilities of these assets being corrupted if they are there in large numbers; mentions the conflict of interests between the troops and the avilitados of the revenue accounts as it relates to a more timely remittance of funds, ff 0533 illedgible. Summary
Due to illness the regimiento de Extremadura is left without a leader as well as the Provincia de Texas being without a governor. Lopez was sent to Texas to take over military and political functions, receives notice later to leave his post as governor of Texas feels his reputation injured but stays on. Arredondo had troops of area moved to Monclova despite the fact that rebels were expected to arrive by ship, action was taken because Lopez had intimated that he would not mobilize troops in the face of rebel attack, also is accused of impeding shipment of goods to troops, Lopez also given order to retire all captains who were not properly equipped to their homes and that they should not be receiving salaries because without the necessary arms and horses they were useless as soldiers. Lopez did not comply; barely legible letter by bacallo saying that Lopez is justifiably upset over being removed from post; mentions the effects of the scarcity of tobacco mentioned earlier, Echandia proposed as new Head of the Provincia de Texas, advisor suggests that the military conflict that would ensue the dismissal of Lopez and the replacement by Echandia is not worth it, Lopez was an interim governor because of illness of the governor and teniente Coronel, he however was not aware of this and therein lies the problem; final decision being that Lopez should reintegrate himself back into the regimiento de Extremadura. Summary
Four soldiers are attacked while on watch on January 13, 1724. Two are killed, one wounded and one escaped without harm. Governor Almazan begins an investigation of the events leading up to the attack. Questions asked of the commanders of the presidio at which nation of Indians are responsible?, how many soldiers are at the presidio?, were the soldiers armed, on horseback or on foot?, and was there negligence on behalf of the commanding officers? This information was to be collected on declarations. Approximately one month after a local Indian uprising by the Cojanes, Carancaguases and Guapites nations, Arge spots an Indian in a nearby oak grove lighting a fire and reports it to Diego Ramon. Garza mounts a horse to investigate returning shortly having seen nothing. Whether men should be outfitted with horses and arms is disputed. That night, January 30, 1724, four sentinels are attacked. The men are poorly armed and on foot. Sentinel Juan Rodriguez returns on foot with two arrow wounds while sentinel Miabe escapes unarmed to the mission where he borrows a horse. Sentinels Antonio Garcia and Ramon de Burgos are killed. Governor Perez de Almazan visits the presidio to find it in disrepair, the men poorly armed, clothed and showing poor military training due to Diego Ramon according to the governor's report. The original uprising occurred on December 19, 1723 when 40 Indians retaliated for a soldier knifing an an Indian. In Olivan de Rebolledo's final report, he suggests garrza be relieved of his rank of sargent, Diego Ramon be relieved of his rank of captain and the lieutenant (?) of his rank. (E.
