The council of the Indies responds to Alday's letter of 1721 on conditions in Nueva Viscaya. The council suggests that in order to protect the growing mining materials, that money be granted to strengthen the military. (J. Grusin) (1976)

Concerning the dispostion of 30,000 pesos which the late viceroy (Linares) contributed to the conquest of the Nayarit Indians. Cited as a major reason for this conquest is that they give refuge to heathen Indians, mestizos, mulatos and sun worshippers. (R.
