Martinez, before his death on February 10, 1790, had sent 15 pesos monthly to his sobrinos in Spain. Assistance continued after his death until end of April, when tesoria de ejercito ordered assistance ceased and money repayed. Jordan Fiel, attorney for sobrinos pleas to virrey to allow sobrinos to keep money. (D. Marksz, January 1987).

Virrey conde de Galvez ordered 300 pesos advanced to Sierra y Cienfuegos for expenses in moving from Santa Fe to San Carlos Cerrogordo. Amount was later held out of Sierra's salary and credited to Cajas generales of capital. (D. Marksz, January 1987).

Rengel gave out 9 cedulas for military benefits for invalids. Cedulas passed to Gutierrez, then to Diaz de Hortega with no action taken. Loyola sent cedulas to virrey for his opinion. Ff. 75-76 details new procedures to be followed by paymasters habilitados to avoid embezzlements and fraud of military salaries. Ff. 77-78 note abuses and recommends ways to improve distribution of clothing, supplies against Indian attacks, canons, difficulty of populating presidios in Texas with families, changes of command in presidios and governorship of Coahuila, administrative impediments to permission for missionaries in Guadalajara to come to work in Coahuila, desire of certain Indians to transfer their place of residency to missions, junta de guerra and missionaries requested to cooperate with government in putting Indians into reduccion.
