This is a group of 26 letters, all originals with the autograph of fr. Francisco Iturralde. They are written from various missions to different friars. Some are personal, others are informes. A good number were written to fr. Diego Bringas who was visitator of the missions, and almost all were written on half folios in the manner in which we write letters today. These informes are short notes bearing fr. Marianos name with dates of the years 1791 and 1792 with two informal letters which have fr. Marianos autograph. This is also appended (incomplete)- resolucion a Una consulta sobre el bautismo. The letters (incomplete) were written from the mission de Espiritu Santo, dated October 26, 1791, November 4, 1793. Summary
This informe was written to the king from the college of San Fernando opposing the recommendation of Don Philipe Neve, the governor, who proposes for economic reasons one missionary be placed in each mission. The document is signed by fr. Francisco Pangua, the guardian and his discretorium and is countersigned by fr. Diego Ximenez, testifying that it is an exact copy of the original. It also speaks of the missions, San Buenaventura Santa Clara and San Francisco which were not yet founded, but the proposed sites for their foundation are mentioned. Summary
This is a group of informes sewed together written by the missionaries laboring in the missions of Pimeria Baja, and Pimeria Alta. They give an account of the foundation and the status of the missions in that area, and are signed by the respective missionary in each mission, with the location of the mission and the date. They are copies of the originals, and the majority are addressed to fr. Chrisostomo Gil de Bernabe. There are thirteen informes in all, written by the following missionaries- fr. Baltazar Carrillo, fr. J. Bautista Garces, fr. Juan Sarove, fr. Estevan de Salazar, fr. Joseph M. Espinosa, fr. Joseph Antonio Caja, fr. Joseph Soler, fr. Francisco Zuniga, fr. Francisco Roch, fr. Diego Ximenez has the decree of Galvez giving the administration of the missions in its temporalities to the missionaries of Santa Cruz college.
