Summary
Diaz de Luna conducting 74 Apaches from Chihuahua to Mexico City. Three Mimbrenos come to See if any of their band are among prisoners, are told there is only one, he a Christian. (later it seems there are many Mimbrenos in chaingang.) Documents concerning Luna's pay, finances of transport. Cordero threatens Tusseguslan with promise to conquer Mimbrenos, mentions ambush of Squielnocten, Mantas Negras. Some description of interaction with Tusseguslan, Yagonjli; Tusseguslan described as capable, astute, aggressive. F.445 concerns methods of indoctrinating, baptizing Indians. Mentions need for blankets for prisoners, who are without clothes, winter approaching. Cumpa, Yagonjli, Tusseguslan request release of their relatives (names and relationships listed on F.450) among prisoners. F.457-491, 499-528 are receipts for supplies (meat, grain) purchased from citizens for prisoners, followed by summary accounts of receipts, which document itinerary of trip. F.497 mentions Gilenos looking for Mimbrenos (said relatives of Cumpa, et Al). F.534 concerns ecclesiastic burial of Young Apache, Maria Josepfa. Final folios are beaurocratic documentation of transport. none of these documents alone contains much insight, taken together they provide good detail on transporting colleras (chaingangs). (A. These documents continued from F.316. Moreno leads transportation of chaingang of Apaches to capitol. (same Indians at times called Mecos.) One Indian left at San Carlos; one near death is baptized by Urruchua at pavellan; Meco infant Dies, is given Christian burial at San Juan del Rio. F.401 on are mostly accounts of expenses of travel, maintenance of Indians; receipts for transfer of money related to transport. (A. Dean, September 1989)

Summary
Concerns de la Serna's petition to governor of Nuevo Santander of repayment of expenditures caused in the transportation of military prisoners to Mexico. Contains relation of salaries paid to de Leon and other five soldiers. de Leon and the soldiers testify having received one hundred and ninety pesos by de la Serna as payment for the transportation of Murgier and Puga to Mexico. Revillagigedo orders de la Serna to be repaid the two hundred and Ten pesos he had to expend. Murgier and Puga are ordered to pay one hundred and five pesos each on a monthly Basis.

Documents treat military, administrative, fiscal matters of gobernador of Nueva Viscaya. Orders from real tribunal de Mineria on operations and administration. Shipment of five deer to Spain. Military pay, personnel, passports and provisions. Miners and merchants of Alamos petition transfer from Rosario of fiscal operations to establish Casa in Alamos. Petition by Ugarte y Loyola for transfer to Guadalajara or Mexico. Military escort of Seri prisoners for theft, murder and rebellion to Guadalajara (emotional and strong prejudice displayed). Guns for the compania de Opatas. Detailed accounting for approved expenses of payment office. Ff. 361-362 chart of expenditures for firearms in comandancia general, itemized by military group and rank with totals for each and summaries. Request and receipt of reglamentos de California written by Neve. Ff. 363-366 include long direct quote of Croix from 1782 explaining why urgently needed firearms from Spain have not left Chihuahua for distribution where needed (cf. Original, folios 137-192). (J.
