Discusses state of Sonoran missions, describing Former abuses of Jesuits, stating that, los pueblos de las missions... Estan formados y dispuestos contra toda politica racional, y sociedad civil. notes Indian hostilities, especially severe in upper San Miguel, Sonora drainages. Claims hostilities responsible for depopulation of prosperous mining community of Saracache north of Cucurpe. Discusses abuses of Indian land by Spaniards and their livestock, stating that Indian in Cucurpe who beat animal eating his crops sentenced to 50 lashes. Notes spread of disease (viruelas, Sarampion) to gentile Indians of Rios Gila and Colorado. Discusses Garces' entradas to Rio Colorado. Proposes plans for new Indian reducciones, arguing that communal labor must be enforced and Indians must not be allowed to live without guidance of civil-religious authorities.
