A Series of letters; significant exchanges- 1-sra. Urdinola to L. Valdez (5-17-1649) good description of a family's constant fear on the frontier. 2-Luis de Valdez to Pedro Saenz Izquerdo de Durango. Letter in which there are descriptions of Indian unrest around Durango. Speaks of 30 Tepeguan friends (3 folios). 3-Pedro Saenz (6-6-1649) declares war vs. Chicimecas followed by witnesses certifying the decrees validity, followed by decrees providing for creating a force and assigning commands and using of of troops in Nueva Galicia to aid new Viscaya. Account of military action and then of Pedro Saenz's merits. (J. Grusin) (1975)
