Summary
Isidro de Bera and several Vaqueros are out rounding up cattle when they encounter a band of Tarahumara living on their hacienda, killing cattle. In the ensuing battle 2 Vaqueros are killed and one is wounded. Several Tarahumara are killed, and the remaining men escape. Bera rounds up the women and children. Contains subsistence and material culture data on Tarahumara. Also many accounts of depredations by Tarahumara and Apaches. (R. Perez) (1977)

Summary
Estevan, a Tarahumara, is accused of Murdering a Spaniard. The identity of the victim must be inferred due to the state of the corpse, it had been partially consumed by Coyotes. Estevan confesses, giving as his motive that the victim whipped him. He is captured by his fellow townspeople who turn him over to the Spaniards. They also supply a long list of previous crimes committed by Estevan. The sentence is death by hanging, the corpse to be quartered and placed in various public locales. (R. Perez) (1977)
