Summary
Orders the governor of New Mexico to obey the real cedulas of 10 may 1770, 28 November 1772, and 24 November 1774 which provided for the establishments of schools in all Indian pueblos. Castellano is to be taught while prohibiting the use of indigenous dialects. Also ordered is the forbidding of the use of anything other than Castellano in convents, monasteries, the courts, business transactions, etc. (G. Miller) (1977)
