Maxent says detachment in Laredo in need of horses and clothing but asks Castro for permission to bring them home to rejuvenate company. Also families need assistance and protection. Acknowledges receipt of military licenses. Includes letters introducing monthly reports on developments and conditions of forces as requested. Requests permission for troops to travel to Mexico and Querataro to purchase supplies. Acknowledges instructions to treat Lipanes kindly in case of rival attack.
