Other documents relate disturbances in town due to absence of priest. Document refers to historical event about sinodos when churches were secularized in 1734 by request of provincial of Zacatecas. Governor of Nuevo Leon suggests to viceroy two plans for capture, submission and christianization of Gualahuizes. Letter sent by fray Barragan to viceroy detailing surrender of Pedro Jose and his group, promises made by Barragan to all Gualahuizes with his plans for controlling them. (A. Dell'acqua.
