Petition by Ugarte y Loyola for transfer to Guadalajara or Mexico. Military escort of Seri prisoners for theft, murder and rebellion to Guadalajara (emotional and strong prejudice displayed). Guns for the compania de Opatas. Detailed accounting for approved expenses of payment office. Ff. 361-362 chart of expenditures for firearms in comandancia general, itemized by military group and rank with totals for each and summaries. Request and receipt of reglamentos de California written by Neve. Two lists of Apaches de Paz at Bacoachi. One gives the name of the Head of the household with the age, sex and relation of others in the family and then totals for men, women, boys and girls. 126 Apaches de Paz at Bacoachi. The 2nd list shows mortality among the Apaches de Paz since December 3, 1786. Again names, and age and sex breakdown are given but in addition the deaths are divided into categories of violent and natural. There were 41 deaths in the 2 year period. Excellent document for demography and names of individual Indians. (T. Naylor) (1977) and (D. Marksz, June 1 1987)

Index only mentions issues addressed between viceroy and general commander of Provincias Internas, but the documents are not found here. Nevertheless, there are some characteristics in combat; commercial goods (coas, cuchillos, Mantas, etc); area of good duraznos farming; reference to some Indian population who are meek and have beards. These Indians were discovered in previous campaigns. Indexes give a narration of the general situation of Provincias Internas. Expediente, accompanied by cover sheet, concerning status of discussion of funds reserved for presidial uses used for other expenses relating to Indian pacification from 1779-1786, and methods to be used in repayment of these funds; purchase of food and supplies for Apache prisoners transported to Mexico; includes a Cuenta dated February 1782 listing expenses incurred by corder from presidial funds; also includes a relacion summarizing similar expenditures from Santa Fe presidio from 1779-1786, which need to be repaid; includes several drafts of orders from Florez(?) Regarding repayment of these funds to the presidio at Santa Fe. (W. Copas, June 1988).

Expediente, accompanied by cover sheet, consisting of letters concerning peaceful relations with Comanches and continuing war Lipanes in Coahuila, and peaceful overtures by Lipanes in Nueva Mexico; request by Lipanes to open commerce; discussion of past betrayals of trust by Lipanes and other Apache groups; discussion of tendency of Apaches to renew hostilities after peaceful meetings with Spaniards; importance of maintaining peace with Comanches, Yutas, Navajos, and Jicarillas; orders from Ugarte to Concha to disregard overtures made by enemy groups of Apaches (gilenos, Pharaones, Natagees, Mescaleros, Lipiyanes, Lipanes, or any other Apache group except Jicarillas); successful military campaigns in Sonora and Nueva Vizcaya in 1787; threat to peace between Spaniards and Comanches if Spaniards make peace with Apaches; discussion of campaigns by Spaniards and Comanches against Apaches and importance of Indian auxiliaries; treatment of Apache prisoners; detailed description of campaign by Ysampampi against Apaches, including numbers killed or captured; Florez's approval of Ugarte's policies; ff. 333-338 is a detaile journal of a campaign against Apaches in October-November 1788, including a table (f. 333v) of company strengths; Florez's commendation of three soldiers who distinguished themselves in this campaign;orders from Ugarte to Concha regarding future campaigns, and Florez's response to these orders.
