Acting as judge, Arguello asks permission of virrey to visit San Buenaventura to put in prison and question Castaneda, who is accused of assaulting and drawing arms against mission's Head of escort, Olivera. Description of incident and Arguello's interrogations of various soldiers that were present; includes their accounts of incident. A Series of letters and indexes of letters that discuss in and ecclesiastical guide, agreed upon action against Yruegas as it relates to his desertion, information documenting the hostilities perpetrated by Indian Pedro Jose and his account of the events, not relieving Yruegas of his duties until it is found who influenced him to desert, dispatching of Bochat D'onis from his company, receipt of official letter dealing with municipal assembly, complaint filed by Grevino against loresno Ternisa for assault while he in a state of drunken stupor and a request that a punishment ensue, the request that gobernadores and intendentes account for the prisoners that have been taken by the Police and the punishments exacted as per royal announcement, the formalities to be completed once Frevino arrives in the capital to fill the post of Alferez, the complices Pantoya and sad and asks the status of the committee related to these, documents related to the mission of Gualehuises. Request for fine gunpowder for presidios in Sonora. Request by Bohorquez to clarification of his loss of employment after 32 years of service without cause. Arrival of guns to Veracruz and transportation of supplies to presidios in Californias. criminal causes against Dominguez for murder, autos against marquez, Aquino and maria Rita de fuente accused of highway robberies and being infieles and homicidas, two Indian women for murder and also, accussations of contraband in Nachitoches by a settler of area. Military process against three soldiers from Loreto for having raped two Young girls. Request of Montepio military for widows by Croix. Military promotions, transfers and deaths; taxes taken from military personnel for prevendas and mitras of the church in indias. Summary
Viceroy Croix orders civilian authorities of area to end disputes over water rights. Documents and dispositions go back and forth as ranches belong to two different municipalities. Owner of ranch claims cattle drink water from his ojo de agua which is reserved for his sheep; believed that if cattle drinks from same water sheep will die. (A. Dell'acqua, December 1987)
