Cabildo of Santa Fe petitions governor to issue agricultural tools, cloth, thread, horses, gunpowder, munitions and arms to inhabitants of Villa as help is needed to defend it, there is hunger and people are almost naked. Cabildo attaches copies of original documents to back up petition dating from 1699 when king issued a cedula for more families and added monetary help to inhabitants of province; documents show viceroy complied but governors did not. Garrison of presidio del Pilar requests cancellation of letters of authority to collect salaries given under duress to Reneros Posada. Soldiers name Roldan to collect such salaries from Caja real in Zacatecas. Reneros Posada requests help from viceroy as Petris Cruzate interferes against Reneros Posada's claim. Investigation of claims by both parties is ordered by viceroy wh decides to pay salaries to soldiers and orders renero Posada to use courts independently of government interference to prosecute soldiers for monies owed. Autos, petitions from Ayagues and Carizos to fiscal de naturales requesting transfer and ownership of land, appointment of Jose Cayetano Salinas as their protector. Travel and incarceration of six Ayagues in Mexico City. Petition granted but not acted upon, Ayagues travel second time to Mexico City to repetition. Petition granted again but blocked by governor who claims that land belongs to Milicianos and that Salinas is an undesirable and criminal who is put in jail.
