Vaamonde (by 1781 Alcalde mayor in Sayula) is denounced to have given 400 licencias de Fierros (authorizations to brand cattle) without notifying the real hacienda and paying the corresponding taxes. Officers from the real hacienda report to have only 6 licencias recorded from that jurisdiction (the holders are listed) and none of them given by Vaamonde. Letter from Bonilla to the viceroy communicating the Orden real whereby Vaamonde is designated gobernador of the Nuevo Reino de Leon due to the death of Gonzalez de Santianez. Prior to assuming the post, Vaamonde has to pay his debt with the real hacienda. Vaamonde asks to be discounted half of his salary as gobernador until the debt is liquidated. His request is accepted. Later, during the investigations motivated by the accusations of corruption raised against Vaamonde, the real hacienda is asked concerning the situation of this debt which, by 1795, was already liquidated.
