Summary
Discussion of detachment of troops made up of troops from Adaes and Orcoquiza due to fear of return of enemy nations. Viceroy orders movement of presidio to Orcoquiza, 2 padres and soldiers remain in Orcoquiza. Desire to repopulate Ranchos, but distance between Ranchos makes defence difficult, suggestion to plant Ranchos with vecinos together under protection of detachment. Rebuilding of Cuerpo de Guardia, houses, prison. Excesses committed by Indians in Bahia and environs under Thobar thus need of troops from Orcoquiza, Adaes, San Sabas, and friendly Indians to punish barbaros. Plea for Ripperda to keep harmony with thobarand's other captains. Soldiers involved in Bahia road building, protecting entrances, Ranchos. Reports of death of Indians and soldiers. Complaints of Indian spying in missions, lack of troops, and horse and oxen theft. Fort establishment. Desire for missionization of coastal Indians. Report of Mal de Lengua disease. Viceroy (?) Summary
Correspondence informing virrey of Cuellar's expedition and his success in killing large number of Chafalotes; mention of two alternatives proposed by Cuellar that will facilitate war against Indians; description of success of captain of San Buenaventura in killing of Indians at frontier of Chihuahua. Letter by captain describing in detail the slaughter. Conflict between Barrios and Cuellar, Cuellar informs of state of his troops and asks his representative Barrios for 100 men; Barrios decides not to send men and gives wrong information about his troops-copies of correspondence between Cuellar and Barrios. Later on Barrios decides to help, gives contradictory report of his troops and meets Cuellar to fight against Indians. Discussion of peace with Indians. (M. Vasquez, July 1988)

Summary
Concerns order to put troops of Chihuahua under Cuellar's command. Copies of various documents and testimonies concerning cabildo of Chihuahua, formed in 1766 to decide over funds, provisions, and arms for auxiliary Indians and soldiers to fight against Apaches. People in cabildo named by Ayuntamiento of commerce and mines of Chihuahua. Mention of several incidents of Indian depredations, list of volunteers from Julimes to fight against Indians included, also mention of captain de la Cruz of naciones Nortenas to join in campaign against Indians. List of miners and merchants and discussion of bankruptcy of Nueva Vizcaya and of necessity to collect funds not only for war but also for construction of church. Discussion of extra funds to be collected from merchants and miners and from anyone who wishes to donate grain, horses, weapons etc. Cuellar is to collect these donations. Summary
Documents concern an all out military campaign and very well organized raid against Nortenos and Apache Indians. Indian prisoners of the Spaniards play an important role in attacks against the Indian rancherias. Diaries of the campaign give full description of how raids were carried out. Military official in charge of the expedition requests stipends for Indian guides who proved loyal to the Spaniards. Document contains some unrelated information dealing with mission's supplies and military appointments. Brief mention of Indian language interpreters. (M. Marroquin, August 1988)

Governor reports on status of Indian Tiburones and their relocation. Captain is sent to Maloia to govern and to protect Indians from their enemies.
