Summary
(continuation of same issue from preceding folios.) Addresses decision whether or not Provincias Internas officials are eligible for pension from Monte Pio de ministro; I.e. due to low salaries, asesor, secretaria, etc. Unable to meet demands of 'descuento' necessary to qualify for Monte Pio. Folios 129-137 provide history of issue, citing reales Ordenes, decretos, etc. Virrey decrees 3-21-1791 that officials to be officers Merino and Matamoros died prior to re-incorporation, should widows receive compensation? To which Monte Pio should officers holding posts of both military and real hacienda make 'descuentos'? also, what to do in case of death of Garrido y Duran, who received two year 'licencia' to visit Spain but is collecting half salary. Summary
Addresses question of whom should assume charge of granting of pensions from Montepio fund in Provincias Internas, discussion of how previously published 'reglamentos' and 'articulos' inform issue. Two widows of military officers await decision by Montepio; Cases reviewed, reasons for granting women pensions cited, E.g. that couple married prior to Husband's enlistment in military, Husband killed in combat by Indians ('un recomendable Merito'), other criteria. Both widows' Cases approved. Decided that Ugarte y Loyola to determine widow eligibility. (L. Kerr, March 1989)

Contraband is prohibited regardless of nationality of ships. Permit given to military official. Receipt for given licence is requested. Series of letters dealing with vacancy in compania presidial del Espiritu Santo. Soldiers abusing their right to have a weapon should be Charged the weapon's cost. Appointments of military officials in Saltillo, Monclova and Parral. Marriage licence given to Echegaray. Reimbursement of money given to Castro for transportation costs. Summary
Extremely repititious sequence of documents concerning the promotion of Palou and Genebriera to administrador de Rentas and Oficial Segundo respectively. Includes long discussions of previous administrative experience of both candidates, and recommendations and character references. Only significant detail involves discussion of whether Alcabalas and playing card taxes should fall under authority of administrador de Rentas. (A. Tukey, November 1988)
