Carta de poder by Antonio Valverde y Cosio (Former governor) (Alcalde mayor de El Paso) authorizing Bernardo Olivares to act in his behalf in presenting a Series of questions to witnesses appearing before general Juan Paez Hurtado in Santa Fe. All of this information is relative to a residencia of Valverde y Cosio and is in his favor (defense). Taken by Paez Hurtado, the interrogatorio presents particulars on the favorable reception and treatment given to Juan de Estrada y Austria (Juez) when he came in 1721 to conduct a residencia on the Former gobernadores from Vargas to Martinez. Testimony showed that the then gobernador Valverde y Cosio did not impede the residencia. Witnesses added that Estrada y Austria only conducted the residencia on Flores Mogollon.
