Documents refer to travel from Cadiz to Veracruz of eleven missionaries captured by French pirates, imprisoned on Island of Guadalupe. Liberated by Englishmen who shipped them to puerto Rico where five of these missionaries died; others shipped to Veracruz for missions in California. Documents detail expenses incurred by crown for their support, transportation, cure and burial. Monies paid to officials for same issues. (A. Dell'acqua, may 1988)

Summary
This document is a study of the borders between the provinces of Louisiana and Texas. Also talks about the discovery of the Mississippi River by Father Marquette and afterwards by Carelier. explains in details what captain Saint Denis of the French army did to enlarge French influence along the Louisiana-Texas border. Discusses the map collection of Abate Raynal and Robertson. As a conclusion Pichardo mentions that the French illegally increased their territorial dominance in that area. (E. Klien) (1978)

Mentions commerce between Louisiana and Texas. Jurisdiction of the province of Texas. (1) presidio de San Antonio de Bejar (founded 1730); (2) presidio de la Bahia del Espiritu Santo; (3) Nuestra Senora del Pilar de Bucareli (1779). The author describes the land of these jurisdictions. Describes a trip made by the governor of Texas. The different tribes he met. This document gives good information about the Indian tribes, their soldiers, their land, hunting (i.e. deer, 'berrendos', turkey, quail). Also mentioned, are the tribes which lived around the province of Texas. (E. Klien) (1978)
