Summary
Series of very repetitive transcripts of interrogations of Anglo-Americanos captured in several parts of Texas. Many confess to trading cloth, beads, dyes, and other trinkets with Indians for horses. Others hunting for bison under contract from Cook. Spanish interrogators especially interested in information concerning General Long, who is suspected of planning attack on Spanish territories from Louisiana. All captives, which include several Negro slaves, deny any connection with Long or rebel activities in Texas. Questions and responses nearly identical for all prisoners. (A. Tukey, October 1988)
