Summary
Herrera rejects expense receipts that Loredo submits for escorting Indian chain-gang from Arispe via Guadalaxara to Mexico; Loredo contests validity of refusal with auditor de guerra's support; royal decree reveals even military petitions must be on official paper with the sello segundo which has Loredo redoing his expense receipts; Perez requests payment for his companies' services in escorting Loredo and prisoners from Guadalaxara to Mexico (Zapotlan); validity of this request is rejected on the grounds that the troop is in the service of his majesty the king and need not be paid extra; after Ten years of debate over the issue between the real hacienda, Loredo and the various viceroys, the king issues a royal decree stating that troops are to be paid 16 pesos for every 80 leagues covered. Three chain gangs sent from Guadalaxara to Mexico and costs expected to feed each adult and child; children may be given away for adoption to be educated and christianized; Loredo is in charge of gang that originated in Arispe consisting of escapees and he is to pick up more in Guadalaxara that are destined for Mexico City. expense records are to be kept to justify monies received in Guadalaxara for the real hacienda in Mexico. Loredo receives an escort from Guadalaxara to Mexico City. Receipts of monies spent along the trail are signed by local leaders. expense lists are on ff# 85-86. (E. Wilson, October 1989)

Sending out religious personnel to curatos and doctrinas, pointing out that the colegio de pachuca May send out personnel for two missions being established, mision de santo angel de satevo and mision de San Francisco de Xavier de baborigame; sealed letter discusses religious personnel to be sent from colegio de pachuca, advises that they be sent to missions now functioning, asks that paper work associated with founding of the guaycabo and cajurichi missions be expedited and mentions that the two are without church or religious paraphernalia; order for lorenzo to send five religious personnel to area as soon as possible and that once they arrive lorenzo will be informed where they will be stationed; lorenzo asks virrey by what means he is to defray the travel costs of the 5 religiosos he is sending, hope that these costs will not be taken from the annual synod paid to the religiosos; response from lorenzo stating his plans to send the five in question as soon as possible. Summary
Trebol Navarro is commissioned to transport some Venados (buras o alazanes-both terms interchanged throughout documents) to Spain for king; expediente deals primarily with costs of transport and feeding of deer, including hire of servants to aid Navarro in journey and caretaking of deer, and especially cost of return to Nueva Mexico upon accomplishing task; everyone reimbursing people for job with enough to both travel home and have money to present to families after over three years, absence; interesting Series of documents. Summary
Lain goes to capital from Santa Fe to petition virrey to pay him and others difference in pension cut (lowered in 1784) to be able to return home; also requests pensions for Monte Pio and inbalidos to be raised to previous amount; 350 pesos conceded for his return trip; capitan general admonished not to send anyone else to capital on such business if they cannot afford return trip.
