Summary
On Vildosolo's order, Anza opened a route from the presidio del Vado de los Alamos to Sonora. He traversed the Mongollon and Mimbres mtns. It is rich in geographic description, but lacks lengthy remarks on Indians. Its value is the fact that it is an unknown diary of Anza. (J. Grusin) (1976)

Summary
This travel account traces Morfi's journey northward from central Mexico to Texas and New Mexico. It is rich in geographic and economic data, as well as in information on presidios and towns. Morfi, however, lacked insight into the things he saw. Also, he mentioned the Indians only in passing and made little effort to study them. (J. Grusin) (1976)

The participants account of their journey from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Monterey California. It is in diary form and includes remarks on geography, natural history, Indians, conversions, utah lake. The party did not reach Monterey, but stopped at utah lake and then returned to New Mexico. Summary
A useful concise account of a. Dominguez's and Velez de Escalante's journey to utah lake. Morfi's account has the advantage of retrospect and is much easier to follow than the original diary. He also uses the failure of the expedition to call for more aid in settling the area between New Mexico and the coast. Also, remarks on Anza's explorations and movement among the Navajos. Some ethnographic information- gathered foods; seasonal habitation; fenced in dancing area; squash preserved by drying; a reference to bow and arrow Indians.
